Alton Joseph Alexander Sr.
Breaux Bridge – Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. onWednesday, December 30, 2015, at St Francis of Assissi Church for Alton Joseph Alexander Sr., 77, who died on Tuesday December 22, 2015, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.
Interment will be in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Ursula Johnson Alexander; three sons, Albert Alexander Sr., Allen Alexander and Alton Alexander Jr.; three daughters, Dorothy Sam (Johnny), Denise Thomas (Kenneth) and Deidre Alexander (Willie); three step children, Bryan Johnson (Lorraine), Crystal Babers (Freddie) and Jaris Johnson (Kasha); one brother, Gerald Alexander; four sisters, Rosella Watson, Serena Bolden and twin sisters Bessie Wilson and (Verna) O’Neil; and a host of grand and great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews, with many friends and family who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Bertha Alexander; maternal grandparents, Douglas and Mary Eve Davis; two sisters, Velma Thomas and Mary Eve Alex; one brother, Vincent Alexander Sr.; one son, Alex Bernard Alexander; and one daughter, Dauphine Adams.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, from 7 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Kinchen Funeral Home in Lafayette. Wake/Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Landmark of Acadiana, Brideway Hospice, Lafayette General, all of his doctors and surgeons for their care and support during his illness.
