Her Highness, Queen Nonnie!

Lafayette — Nonnie Maria Berard, 17, daughter of Edward Berard and Melody Belaire, was crowned 2008 Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival queen at a pageant held at the Hilton Hotel and Towers here on March 22.

First runner-up is Michelyn Bernard, 19, daughter of Mark and Angelique Bernard. Second runner-up is Kayla Perry, 18, daughter of Blake and Jackie Perry.

Pioneeer crawfisherman C.J. LeBlanc was named Roi de l’ecrevisse — Crawfish King.

Glenn and Sylvia Green were inducted into the Crawfish Festival Hall of Fame.

The 2008 Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival will be held May 2-4 at its usual Parc Hardy location in downtown Breaux Bridge.
