Sunday storm leaves 2 dead

\A storm front that moved through Acadiana Sunday morning spawned a deadly tornado that claimed the lives of a mother and her young daughter along Zin Zin Road near here.
Killed when their mobile home was crushed and flipped over were Francine Gotch, 38, and her 3-year-old daughter, Nevaeh Alexander.
The residence is located about a mile east of Doyle Melancon Road on the south side of Zin Zin Road.
Nearby structures were not damaged and there were no other injuries.
Emergency responders pulled the bodies from the wreckage.
The child’s father, Edward Alexander, had left to buy groceries before the storm hit and returned shortly after.
Besides the loss of lives, the family home and most of their possessions were destroyed and a fund has been established to assist them. Donations can be made via gofundme.com.
