Catherine ‘Kate’ Signorelli Thibodeaux

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks for Catherine “Kate” Signorelli Thibodeaux, 97, who passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2016.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
A rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Born on Christmas day, 1918 in New Orleans, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Philipina Moresi Signorelli.
Kate and her husband, Roland, were active in the business community. Together they founded, owned and operated R.J. Thibodeaux Shell Yard and Roland Thibodeaux Grocery Store for several decades. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary as well as The St. Martin Parish Cowbells.
One of Kate’s passions was sharing her Italian culinary skills with family and friends. She was well-known for her traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve holiday dinners for her family. Kate was an avid Bingo, Pokeno, and Bourré player, not accepting anything but “Winner of the Game.”
She is survived by one son, Ronald Thibodeaux and his wife Vicky of Lafayette; and her daughter-in-law, Beth Thibodeaux of Parks; 12 grandchildren, Katherine “Karen” Thibodeaux Stelly and husband Mark, James Thibodeaux and wife Dacia, Ricky Thibodeaux and wife Melissa, Ben Thibodeaux and wife Audrey, Blaine Thibodeaux, Kimberly Thibodeaux, Madalyn Thibodeaux Broussard and husband BJ, Hannah Thibodeaux Devall and husband Justin, Trey Thibodeaux and wife Amber, Shyla Thibodeaux, Amanda Thibodeaux Guidry and husband Jonathan, and Jason Thibodeaux; 13 great-grandchildren, Cody and Logan Stelly, Gavin, Nathan, Chandler, Emily, Dylan, Blake, Brock, Tyler, Tucker and Alysa Thibodeaux and Luke Guidry; and one great-great-grandchild, Brinley Hebert.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roland James Thibodeaux; son and daughter-in-law, Richard James and Jerri Beasley Thibodeaux; son, Thomas “Tommy” Wayne Thibodeaux; granddaughter, Jamie Lynn Thibodeaux; and grandson, Trent Thibodeaux.
Also, preceding Kate were all 11 of her siblings, Mary Locassio, Anna Dominica, Joe Signorelli, Henry Signorelli, Lena Graffio, Jenny Lombardo, Rose Simons, Josie Foti, Tony Signorelli, Lula Foti and Frances Charpentier.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Blaine, Trey, James, Ricky, Ben and Jason Thibodeaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cody and Logan Stelly, Gavin, Nathan, Chandler, Dylan, Blake, Brock, Tyler and Tucker Thibodeaux, and Luke Guidry.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
