Two SM men arrested for drugs and warrants

Acting on reports of drug activity and following a purchase by undercover agents on Thursday, Oct. 6, the St. Martin Sheriff’s Office arrested two men in the 1200 block of Martin Dautreuil Rd. in rural St. Martinville after a search of the residence revealed the presence of drugs and weapons.
Wendall Benjamin, 40, was charged with possession of marijuana and codeine, illegal possession of firearms, drug possession in the presence of a juvenile, transactions involving drugs and active warrants for criminal neglect of family and failure to appear.
Kyrin Dauphine, 35, was arrested on an active warrant for second degree battery.
The men are being held at the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. No bail has been set as of press time.
