Elsie ‘Aunt Chubby’ Boudreaux-Lasseigne

Catahoula – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Elsie “Aunt Chubby” Boudreaux Lasseigne, 79, who passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016.
Visiting hours were observed at Dion Hall from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday at 7 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Rev. Richard Fabre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Chubby was a member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula. All of her life she was an excellent homemaker and took care of her family. Chubby enjoyed playing Pokeno and Rummy, doing crossword puzzles, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. 
She is survived by her husband, Willis J. Lasseigne Sr.; daughters, Karen Borel and husband Byron, Lisa Bergeron and husband Albert, and Paula Champagne and husband Charley; sons, Willis “Bill” Lasseigne Jr. and wife Janice, Kim Lasseigne and wife Lynn, and Clayton Lasseigne; brothers, Walter Boudreaux and Alexson “Frog” Boudreaux and wife Elaine; grandchildren, Shelley Theriot, Keely Borel, Kent Borel, Ashley Courville, Blaine Borel, Sophie Bergeron, Jade LeBlanc, Chantal Champagne, Paige Fontenot, Chase Champagne and Dylan Lasseigne; and great-grandchildren, Nathan and Jonah Theriot, Kennedy and Gracie Broussard, Brooklyn Bertholet, Landon, Remi and Audrey Courville, Carter Borel, Jaelyn and Jy Bergeron, Emmi LeBlanc, Mylee Fontenot, and Adalynn Lasseigne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aldes and Sophie Barras Boudreaux Sr.; brothers, Clayton Boudreaux, Aldes “Blanco” Boudreaux and Carrol Boudreaux.
Pallbearers were Kent Borel, Blaine Borel, Chase Champagne, Dylan Lasseigne, Kirk Boudreaux, Buddy Theriot and all of her granddaughters.
Honorary pallbearers were Chris Courville, Justin Fontenot and Jessie LeBlanc.
The family would like to give special thanks to Arsene Blanchard for all of the love and time spent in caring for Chubby and also to Hospice of Acadiana, especially Debra Cormier.
