Pierre ‘Tippy’ Trahan

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Pierre “Tippy” Trahan, 68, who passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
A rosary was prayed at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Rev. Neil Pettit officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Beatrice Zerangue. Gift bearers were Niki, Rory and Enri Rose Thibodeaux.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia at a later date.
Mr. Trahan honorably served his country in the United States Army during tours in Germany and Vietnam. He was self-employed in the oil field. Tippy enjoyed fishing, planting trees, and gardening. Every morning you could find Tippy at McDonald’s with the coffee crew ... solving the world’s problems. He truly enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, daughter and loving grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 beautiful years, Lou Anna Hebert Trahan of Cecilia; his daughter, Niki Thibodeaux and husband Ryan of Arnaudville; his brothers, Leopold Trahan Jr. and his wife Carla, and Kirt Trahan, all of New Orleans; his sisters, Barbara T. Stelly and husband James of New Orleans, Dianne Trahan of Houma, Kathy Johnson and husband Denver of Cecilia, and Charlene Trahan of New Orleans; and his grandchildren, Rory Court Thibodeaux and Enri Rose Thibodeaux.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scotty Lee Trahan; his daughter, Courtney Renee Trahan; and his parents, Leopold and Phyllis Lormand Trahan Sr.
Pallbearers were Leopold Trahan Jr., Kirt Trahan, Ryan Thibodeaux, Cecil Hebert, Colby Hebert, Wayne Dohmann, Jamie Lanclos, Danny Manuel and Sidney Lanclos.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
