Mitch Jude Calais

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mitch Jude Calais, 47, who passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.
Visiting hours were observed from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continued on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary wase prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Fr. Neil Pettit officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Ryi Calais and Hannah Guidry. Gift bearers were his nieces, Hannah Guidry, Madison, Marlee and Mya Dupuis, and Macy and Ellie Calais.
Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Born April 21, 1969, Mitch grew up and lived his entire life in Cecilia. Following in his late grandfather and father’s footsteps, Mitch continued in his family legacy working for Calais Wrecker Service. He eventually purchased his own towing company, Huval Towing.
Mitch was good hearted and would help anyone that was in need. He will always be remembered by his distinct laugh and his love for his dog, Zeus. Zeus went everywhere with Mitch and was always by his side. Mitch was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Patsy Thibodeaux Calais; his brothers, Chris Calais and wife Dana, and Brent Calais; his sisters, Chantel Calais, Wynde Frederick and husband Nick, and Kasie Calais; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Holden and Alma Calais Sr.; and maternal grandparents, Rosen and Palmier Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers were Chris Calais, Brent Calais, Ryi Calais, Jansen Calais, Hagan Calais and Nick Frederick.
Honorary pallbearers were Jamie Calais, Isaac Huval, Hudson Frederick and Brantley Frederick.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
