John Calvin Smith Sr.

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug.t 13, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for John Calvin Smith Sr., 68, who passed away on Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Visiting hours will be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Christiana Zenon Smith; son, Maurice Smith of Lafayette; brothers, Nary, William and Randy Smith, all of St. Martinville, and Clarence and Donald Smith of Lafayette; sisters, Mrs. Willie (Shirley) Simon of New Iberia, Mrs. Calvin (Alfreda) Mallery, Prenella Smith, Mrs. George (Janella) Malveaux and Mary Ann Smith, all of St. Martinville, and Mrs. Lovelace (Octavia) Broussard of Delcambre; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kirby Smith.
