Breaux Bridge – A Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Heath W. Knight, 42, who passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at St. Martin Hospital.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continued on Friday at 7 a.m. until time of service. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Deacon Marcel “Butch” Hebert officiated at the Funeral Service. Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Heath was a member of the Livestrong Foundation for 18 years. He was actively involved with the BAYSI organization for many years and loved spending weekends at the ball park with his boys. In addition to being a baseball coach, Heath was an avid cyclist.
Heath was a dedicated and loving husband and father; a fun-loving and hands-on kind of Dad with his two boys, whom he adored. He loved life and lived it to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Koty Theriot Knight; two sons, Kason and Kade; his mother, Antonia Natalie Knight; three brothers, Berry Knight, Clint Knight and wife Wendy, and Jeff Knight and wife Wanda; half-brothers, Billy and Ernie Knight; his in-laws, Norris and Peggy Theriot; his sister-in-law, Milly Mullens and husband Cody; his nephews, Dustin, Calin and Cameron Knight; and his nieces, Galea and Summer Knight and Calyn Mullens.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Knight; half-sister, Patty Brunson; brother-in-law, Butch Theriot; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Pallbearers were Berry Knight, Clint Knight, Jeff Knight, Eugene Knight, Norris Theriot, Brandon Begnaud and Rickie Garritt.
Honorary pallbearers were the kids he coached for baseball.
The family would like to thank Wendy Fuselier and the nursing staff at St Martin Hospital for their care and support.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
