Parks - A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 12 noon, on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks, for Gerald James Angelle, 60, who passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.
A rosary was recited on Friday.
Rev. Austin Leger officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Gerald enjoyed playing pool and cards, fishing, sports, cooking, and watching The Young and the Restless while drinking his coffee. He will be remembered as a person with the character of being an outspoken individual in a soft manner. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sisters, Joyce Irving of Parks, and Criscilla St. Romain and husband Ed of Breaux Bridge.
He was preceded in death by parents, James and Odette Ann Melancon Angelle; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Angelle; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Melancon; and his aunt, Agnes Stelly.
Pallbearers were Scotty St. Romain, Sidney Myers, Bryson Theriot, Carnell Stelly, Donald Clark, and Ryan Doucet.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
