Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, May 20, 2016, at St. Bernard Catholic Church’s Borel Center for Electa Marie Robert, 98, who passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Thursday and continued on Friday at 7 a.m. until time of service.
A rosary was prayed at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday by Fr. Gary Schexnayder.
Scriptures were read by Antoinette Brasseaux and Leslie Robert. Gift bearers were Olivia Mastalez, Morgan Brasseaux and Kourtni Robert.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Electa enjoyed sewing, cooking, dancing, and taking care of her garden. She loved her family unconditionally. Electa will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her sons, Don Robert and wife Diane, and Allen Robert and wife Flora; grandchildren, Shane Robert and wife Leslie, Marty Robert and wife Cathy, Antoinette Brasseaux and husband Blaine, and Olivia Mastalez and husband Shannon; great-grandchildren, Carice, Kourtni and Trey Robert, Morgan Brasseaux and Brayden Mastalez; great-great-grandchild, Khloe Mire; and her sister, Emeliane Landry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Idle and Eva Theriot Bijeaux; her husband, Jefferson Robert; brother, Adam Bijeaux; and sisters, Palmire Guidry, Emerite Theriot, Devine Theriot, Martha Guidry and Vivian Bijeaux.
Pallbearers were Don, Allen, Shane, Marty and Trey Robert and Danny Comb.
Honorary pallbearers were Blaine Brasseaux and Shannon Mastalez.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
