Gervice B. Douet

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Gervice B. Douet, 75, who passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday, and continued on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Rev. Rusty Richard officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Gervice was a parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, and a member of R.C.I.A. and Martha’s Guild. She enjoyed working in her yard, reading, and spending time with her grandkids. Gervice loved cooking, baking and candy making. She will be remembered for her kind spirit in helping others, especially the elderly and disabled.
She was the owner and operator of Angelic Touch Care Services. Gervice will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Dean Douet and wife Kellie of St. Martinville, and Ken Douet and spouse Richard Howes of Lafayette; daughters, Gayle Gaudet and husband Louis of Lake Charles, Dianne Champagne and husband Sidney of St. Martinville, and Toni Segura and husband Don of Cade; brothers, Roy Bergeron and wife June of Gonzales, Lester Bergeron and wife Gail of Olla, and Caliste Bergeron and wife Enola “Red” of St. Martinville; sister, Anna Louise Boutte of Port Allen; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Caliste and Louise Thibodeaux Bergeron; and her husband, Caesar Douet.
Pallbearers were Dean Douet, Ken Douet, Taylor Douet, Logan Douet, Stormie Champagne and Don Segura.
Honorary pallbearers were her three brothers, Roy Bergeron, Lester Bergeron and Caliste Bergeron.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
