Mary ‘Chip’ Davis Beauchamp

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for Mary “Chip” Davis Beauchamp, 91, who passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016.
Visiting hours were observed from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary was prayed at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Fr. Neil Pettit officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Cameron Menard and Deneka Johnson. Gift Bearers were Christian Menard, Justin Babineaux and Klysie Johnson.
Interment followed at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia.
Mrs. Beauchamp was employed by Louisiana State University and Gus Janitorial Service. During her free time she enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and during her younger days she enjoyed playing tennis. Her involvement throughout the community and church parish was demonstrated in various organizations which included the Ladies Auxiliary, serving as a Eucharistic Minister at church, St. Anne’s Group, and the 4th Degree organization.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Zenon of Breaux Bridge; her son, Willie Johnson Jr. of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Rogers Babineaux Jr., Toicy Babineaux, Sr., Mario Johnson, Joel Johnson, Victorine Babineaux, Centrell Babineaux, Deneka Johnson and Ursula Zenon; 25 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews, Soncera Davis, Cassandra Davis, Stephan Davis, Contessa Robertson, Checqueline Davis, Elbertina Wells and Telesphore Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Beauchamp; parents, Telesphore and Victorine Alexander Davis; her sisters, Virgie Mae Broussard and Marie Ida Davis; and her brothers, George Isaac Davis and Toicy Davis.
Pallbearers were Jacolby Babineaux, Mario Johnson, Steffon Constantine, Joel Johnson, Randall Menard Jr. and Rannel Babineaux.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
