Henrietta Dwyer Girouard

Broussard – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Henrietta Dwyer Girouard, 88, who passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Brookdale of Lafayette surrounded by her family.
Interment was held in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service with a Rosary recitation at 11:30 a.m.
The Reverend Michael Delcambre was the celebrant of the funeral Mass and conducted the funeral services. Gift bearers were Danielle L. Perry, Nanette L. Hendl and Megan Girouard. Lectors were Bonnie Girouard and Michaela Lapoint. Altar servers were Aaron Perry ad Colin Boudreaux.
Serving as pallbearers were Steve Girouard, Hank Girouard, Chris Lapoint, Wayne Lapoint, Spence Girouard, Nick Girouard and Ian Girouard.
Henrietta, along with her late husband Maxim, managed Girouard’s Nursery. They both shared a tremendous passion for the business and along the way formed lasting relationships with their customers.
Survivors include one daughter; Maxine Lapoint and her husband Wayne of Broussard; two sons, Steven Girouard and his wife Bonnie Beaullieu Girouard of Broussard, and Henry (Hank) and his wife Karen Theriot Girouard of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Christopher Lapoint (Michaela), Danielle L. Perry (Gene), Nanette L. Hendl (Joshua), Spence Girouard (Savannah), Nick Girouard (Leigh), Megan Girouard and Ian Girouard; nine great-grandchildren, Aaron and Morgan Perry, Evan and Dylan Lapoint, Sloan and Sutton Girouard, Vivienne Girouard, Peyton and Adalynn Hendl.
She was preceded in death by her husband Maxim (Tim) Girouard; parents, William and Viola Castille Dwyer; two brothers, Jack Dwyer and William (Bill) Dwyer; and sister, Mickey Pavy.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Brookdale Memory Care staff and Hospice of Acadiana.
