Maria B. Granger

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Maria B. Granger, 97, who passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Rev. Rusty Richard officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers were Connie Hayes and Louella Champagne.
Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mrs. Granger was a parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church and a member of The Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning for everyone in the neighborhood.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Granger and companion Chic, Curtis Granger and friend Mary Ann, Donald Granger and wife Anna Lee, and Perry Granger; daughters, Betty Albert and husband Wilbert, and Carol Touchet and husband Cliven; 24 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Granger; parents, Cyrus and Irma Gautreaux Bernis; sisters, Luda Theriot, Rita Theriot and Agnes Oviedo; grandchild, Mark Granger; and great-grandchild, Jeremy Rebert.
Pallbearers were Timothy Granger, David Granger, Errol Albert, Devin Touchet, Donald Granger Jr. and Buck Wiltz.
The family would like to give special thanks to Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home and to Bridgeway Hospice for the care given to Maria.
