Shirley Ann George Brown

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Shirley Ann George Brown, 67, who passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Jennifer Jones.
Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Shirley was a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She enjoyed shopping, going to the casino, and going on cruises. Shirley was known as a loving and giving person, who cherished moments spent with her family and friends. She was a faithful church-goer and loved attending Mass. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sisters, Hattie Tripeaux and Patricia Williams and husband Andrew; brothers, Alvin George, Calvin George, William George Jr. and wife Celestine, Steve George, Collins George and wife Barbara, Edmond George, Eddie George and Lennis George; her special friend, Bruce Larkins; her aunts, Hilda Chambers and Mary Joyce George; numerous nieces and nephews; and her bird, Ace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William George Sr. and Mary Jean Batiste George; and a brother, Mark George.
Pallbearers will be Steve George, Collins George, Lennis George, Jules Tripeaux, Lazarus George and Ron George.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie, Edmond, Calvin, Alvin and William George.
