Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Donald Charles, 57, who passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016.
Visiting hours were observed from 7 a.m. until 10:15 on Friday at Pellerin Funeral Home (Carver Street Chapel) in Breaux Bridge.
A rosary was prayed at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
Rev. Bartomiej Jasilek officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Francine Lee and Sheryl Smith. Scriptures were read by Willa Daiga. Gift Bearers were Sharon Charles and Theresa Singleton.
Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia.
Mr. Charles enjoyed spending time watching sports, especially his favorite teams the New Orleans Saints and San Antonio Spurs. He enjoyed cooking for the family and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Shirley Lee Charles of Breaux Bridge; sons, Trevella Lee and Cameron Lee, both of Breaux Bridge; father, Jules Charles; sisters, Theresa Singleton and husband Lambert of Henderson, and Sharron Charles of Lafayette; and brothers, Steven Charles of Arnaudville and Dennis Charles of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elodie Charles; daughter, Bianca Davis; brothers, Danny Charles and Shelton Charles; and sisters, Emma Charles and Mary Jane Charles.
Pallbearers were Ryan Peters, Daniel Lee, Dennis Lee, Derick Lee, Tyrell Sam, Julious Charles, Schafer Charles and Michael Charles.
Honorary pallbearers were Trevella Lee, Steven Charles, Dennis Charles, Alton Lee, Clifton Lee and Willie Sam.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
