Viva B. Periou

Parks – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Viva B. Periou, 93, who passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 after a short illness.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
A rosary will be prayed before funeral service.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial.
Viva never met a stranger. She believed “La Vie Est Belle” and lived accordingly with a great zest and appreciation for the time on this earth which God gave her. Viva led her children and grandchildren on adventures and experiences they will always remember with a smile or a shake of the head and a fond laugh. She loved and was loved by many.

She is survived by her daughters, Gayle Scheuermann and husband Walter, and Christina Bulliard and husband Robert; sons, Thomas Periou and wife Anne, and James Fruge; grandchildren, Christian Scheuermann, Marie Scheuermann, Rhonda Simmons, Guy Scheuermann, Eric Periou, Caitlin Periou, Marie Hanks and Gabriel Bulliard; great-grandchildren, Estelle, Madeline and Christopher Simmons, Lily, Eve, Christian and MaeMae Scheuermann, Bella and Lucy Jacobs, and Sullivan and Finn Hanks; sister, Velma B. Guidry; and brother, Steve Broussard.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas J. Periou; son, Ernest Periou; great-granddaughter, Ava Hanks; and parents, Septime and Lily Hardy Broussard.
