Rose Mae Vicknair

Arnaudville – Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church for Rose Mae Vicknair, 83, the former Rose Mae Campisi, who passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Keenan Brown, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Vicknair was a native of Cow Island and a lifelong resident of Breaux Bridge. She was employed with Trappey’s Canning Company in New Iberia. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson. Mr. Vicknair was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured visiting with her children and grandchildren and playing bingo.
Survivors include three sons, David Vicknair Sr. and his wife Rose Marie of Breaux Bridge, Donald Vicknair of Henderson and Kurtis Vicknair Sr. of St. Martinville; three daughters, Sarah Vicknair of Henderson, Elaine Allemond and her husband Rene Jr., of Arnaudville and Carla Campisi of St. Martinville; 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and her godchild, Lena Buford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Vicknair; her parents, Anthony and Adrianne Campisi; one son, Robert Lee Vicknair; one daughter, Dorothy Mae Quibedeaux; one brother, Noah Campisi; three sisters, Eunice Buford, Elgin Guidry and Eve Lavergne; and three grandchildren, Keisha Quibedeaux, Jeremy Vicknair and Gerald Vicknair.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Visiting hours were observed from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tuesday and will continue from 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Donald Vicknair, David Vicknair Sr., David Vicknair Jr., Brian Vicknair, Britt Vicknair and Harold Buford. Honorary pallbearers will be Dawn Vicknair, Nichole Breaux, Casey Allemond and Travis Allemond.
