Willis Jones Sr.

New Iberia – A Home-Going Celebration will be held for Mr. Willis Jones, Sr. 86, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Fletcher Funeral Home, New Iberia.
He will await the resurrection at Union Baptist Church Cemetery, St. Martinville.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 7 a.m. at the funeral home until time of service.
A native and resident of Cade, La., he passed at 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home in Cade.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Willis (Sedonia) Jones Jr. of Morbihan, La., and Albert Cormier of Cade; five daughters, Ivory Cormier of Cade, Elizabeth Cormier Jones of New Iberia and Florence Cormier of Lafayette, and Carol Evans and Carolyn Faxworth both of New Iberia; one brother, Roy (Marion) Jones of Lafayette; three sisters, Laura (Milton Sr.) Green and Mary (Forest) Allen of New Iberia, and Hazel (Joe) George of Cade; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Cormier; parents, Herman Jones Sr. and Zoway Flugence Jones; one daughter, Emelda Cormier; one son, Edward Cormier; two grandsons, Christopher Van Cormier and Kumasi T. Kearney; two sisters, Geneva J. Decuir and Florence J. Lee; and nine brothers, Herman Jones Jr., Clarence Jones, Edward Jones, Raymond Jones, Lawrence Jones, Douglas Jones, Albert Jones, Louis Jones and Herbert Jones.
