Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Paul Frederick Roberts, 76, who passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday at 7 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Fr. Michael Delcambre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Mr. Roberts was a Mason all of his life. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and cooking with his brother, John. He will be remembered for his unconditional love and selfless acts as a father.
He is survived by his daughters, Paula Steele and companion Larris Guidry, and Diana DelaCruz and companion Brent Brasseaux, all of Cecilia; his sons, Clifford Roberts of Cecilia and companion Stacie Smith of Mississippi, Bryan Roberts and companion Melanie Leon of Breaux Bridge, and Kyle Roberts and wife Connie of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Trey Steele, Tyler Steele, Lacy Rae Aucoin, Kelsie Roberts, Brilie Roberts, Landon Roberts, and twins Logan and Maddox Roberts; his great-grandchildren, Jaxon Steele, Kaden Frederick, Cade Bayham and Ta’Liyah Collins; and his brother, John C. Roberts Sr. and wife Johnnie of Cecilia.
He was preceded in death by parents, Chester Jean and Monique Guilbeau Roberts; his beloved wife of 53 years, Eloise Spinner Roberts; his daughter-in-law, Debbie Roberts; and his son-in-law, Suli DelaCruz.
Pallbearers were Clifford Roberts, Bryan Roberts, Kyle Roberts, Trey Steele, Tyler Steele and Landon Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers were John C. Roberts Sr. and John C. Roberts Jr.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
