Helen Doré Romero

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 1 p.m., on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Helen Doré Romero, 96, who passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Center.
A rosary was recited on Friday.
Rev. Rusty Richard officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Ryan and Billie Romero. Gift Bearers were Charlee and Cort Romero. Entombment followed at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
Mrs. Romero enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and going to arts and craft shows.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel Romero and wife, Philomena, of Lafayette and David Romero of St. Martinville; her daughter, Linda Bonin and husband, Keith, of Pineville; her grandchildren, Ryan Romero and wife Billie, Kenneth Romero and wife Ginger, Brian Bonin, and Scott Bonin; and her great-grandchildren, Logen Romero, Breaden Romero, Cort Romero, and Charlee Romero.
She was preceded in death by parents, Sylvain and Celina Laviolette Doré; her husband, Zoel Romero, 5 sisters; 5 brothers; her daughter-in-law, Roann M. Romero; her grandchildren, Boyd Allen Romero and Daniel J. Romero, Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Zoey Clair Romero.
Pallbearers were David Romero, Ryan Romero, Kenneth Romero, Scott Bonin, Logen Romero, and Breaden Romero.
Honorary pallbearers were Nolan Doré, Jules Doré, and Jay Fremin.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
