Carlee “Coach” Huval

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Carlee “Coach” Huval, 82, who passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015.
Visiting hours were observed from 7:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Saturday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary was prayed at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday by Deacon Ken Soignier.
Fr. Michael Delcambre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Jhansi Calais Huval and Dolly Calais. Gift Bearers were Chloe Perron, Bella Calais, Nixon Calais, Genevieve Huval, and Ezra Huval.
Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mr. Huval honorably served in the Louisiana Army National Guard for nine years. Better known to many throughout the community of Cecilia as “Coach” (despite never being one), he was retired from Cecilia Water Corporation where he worked for many years and was also the owner and operator of Coach’s Backhoe Service.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, as well as friend to many. He and his many quirks will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Sadie Huval Calais and her husband Perry of Cecilia; two grandchildren, Ian Calais and his wife Dolly; and Jhansi Calais Huval and her husband Jed, all of Cecilia; five great-grandchildren, Chloe Perron, Bella Calais, Nixon Calais, Genevieve Huval and Ezra Huval; one niece, Jessica Tauzin Perkins; and two nephews, Kenneth Tauzin and Joel Tauzin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Lena LeBlanc Huval; his beloved wife of 47 years, Ethel “Tit” Tauzin Huval; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Marie Tauzin; and his brothers-in-law, A.J. and Johnny “Canoe” Tauzin.
Pallbearers were Perry Calais, Ian Calais, Jed Huval, Kenneth Tauzin, Harris “MeMe” Tauzin and Alvin Sanders. Honorary pallbearer was Bert Huval.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
