Danny ‘Gros Dan’ Jude Roberts

Cecilia – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Danny “Gros Dan” Jude Roberts, 51, who passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary was recited with Deacon Kenneth Soignier at 7 p.m. on Wednesday followed with a Eulogy by his son Chaz H. Roberts.
Rev. Michael Delcambre officiated at the Funeral Mass. Readers were Beth Roberts, Kayli Guidry and Patti Roberts Guidry. Gift Bearers were Claudia Roberts, Sophia Roberts, Liam Roberts and Jake Roberts.
Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Danny was beloved by his family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, and community.  Affectionately known as “Gro Dan” by his nearest friends, Danny always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude. He never met a stranger. He left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered because of his sincerity and enthusiasm.
Danny followed and supported LSU athletics with a passion. Danny enjoyed coaching his kids and others in youth sports.  He enjoyed spending free time with his wife and kids. 
He is survived by his wife, Bridgette LeBlanc Roberts of Cecilia; his sons, Chaz Hanley Roberts and his wife Beth Sansovich Roberts, Payne Daniel Roberts, and Liam Jude Roberts; his daughters, Claudia Reneé Roberts and Sophie Joanna Roberts; his grandchild, Jake Hanley Roberts; his sister, Patti Roberts Guidry; his brother-in-law, Kenneth Paul Guidry; and his mother-in-law, Rebecca LeBlanc all of Cecilia.
He is preceded in death by his father, Henley “Jun” Roberts Jr.; his mother, Joanna Hebert Roberts; and his father-in-law, Andy LeBlanc Sr.
Pallbearers were Chaz Roberts, Payne Roberts, Chase Guidry, Beau Guidry, Randy Hebert and Robert “PeeWee” Ray.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia was in charge of arrangements.
