Orelia ‘Mayon’ Bijeaux

Breaux Bridge – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Orelia “Mayon” Bijeaux, 94, who passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Center.
Visiting hours were observed from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday and continued on Tuesday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
“Mayon” enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. She especially loved taking care of her grandchildren, whom she adored.
She is survived by her son, Clevens Bijeaux and wife Clara of Breaux Bridge; two brothers, Septieme and Phillipe Borel of Catahoula; her sister, Mary Albert and husband Ramsey of Catahoula; three grandchildren, Paula Credeur, Bentley Bijeaux and wife Tammy, and Michelle Allemand and husband Bryan; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Bijeaux and wife Ashley, Chase Bijeaux, Hailey Bijeaux, Sadi Brasseaux and Hunter Credeur; and one great-great-grandchild, Klaire Bijeaux.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Adam Bijeaux; her parents, Laurent and Clara Theriot Borel; six brothers, Clovis, Marcel, Pierre, Joseph, Amilcar and Lawrence Borel Jr.; and four sisters, Olivia Borel, Elmire Borel, Editte Theriot and Corinne Dugas.
Pallbearers were Bentley Bijeaux, Tyler Bijeaux, Chase Bijeaux, Bryan Allemand, Danny Landry and Ronald Borel.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
