Courtney James Jacob

Courtney James Jacob was born on July 30, 1979, to Randy Jacob and Cynthia Boddie Jacob. On January 3, 2015, he was called home to his final resting place, at the age of 35. Courtney was loved by many people of all ages. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, driving his truck, talking on his cell phone, cooking, and playing Fantasy Football.
Courtney is survived by his wife, Tricia Mitchell Jacob of Broussard; his daughter, Courtland Jacob, and his son, Cohen Jacob, both of Broussard; his mother, Cynthia B. Jacob of New Iberia; one sister, Tanya Malveaux (Anthony) of New Iberia; three brothers, Randy Jacob Jr. (Priscilla) of Cecilia, Carl Jacob of Galveston, Texas, Corey Jacob (Mandy) of St. Martinville, and his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Boddie of Columbus, Ga; his mother-in-law, Ann Mitchell and his father-in-law, C. J. Mitchell both of St. Martinville.
He is preceded in death by his father, Randy Jacob Sr. of New Iberia; his brother, Marvis Jacob of St. Martinville; paternal grandparents, Roy and Beulah Jacob of Loreauville; and maternal grandfather, Elbert Boddie of Columbus, Ga.
Funeral services were held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Our Savior’s Church in Broussard, with Pastor Randy Dugas officiating at the funeral service. Entombment followed at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
Visiting hours were observed from 7:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville.
Pallbearers were Palmer Malvo, Casey Lundy, Byron Jones, Brent Broussard, Omari Belle and Chad Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers were Randy Jacob Jr., Carl Jacob, Corey Jacob, Jamie Jacob, Lonnie Jacob, Eric Jacob Jr., Paul Broussard, Anthony Malveaux, Alvin Monroe, Francis Jones Jr., Trent Mitchell and Germaine Simon.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
