Emile Joseph Guidry Jr.

Private graveside services were held for Emile Joseph Guidry Jr., 77, who passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at St. Martinville Nursing & Rehab Center.
Mr. Guidry was a sugarcane farmer, owner of Guidry’s Feed Store for 30 years, and worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Department for over 10 years, before retiring. He was a resident of St. Martinville Nursing Home. As a pastime he loved to hunt and spend time in the Basin.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Guidry Boudreaux and her husband Karl of St. Martinville; his granddaughter, Blair Boudreaux Meyers; his sister, Ida Guidry Dupré; and his step sisters, Maria Bernis Granger and Rita Bernis Theriot.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Babineaux Guidry; his son, Johnny Guidry; his mother, Celina Albert Bernis; his father, Emile Joseph Guidry Sr.; step father, Cyrus Bernis; brothers, Wilson and Wilmo Guidry; step sisters, Luna Bernis Theriot and Agnes Bernis Oviedo; and his father and mother-in-law, Earl and Corrine Latiolais Babineaux.
Pellerin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
