Breaux Bridge Police taking nearly 500 calls a month

Breaux Bridge – The Police Department received 472 complaints in the period from Aug. 9 to Sept. 5, leading to 78 citations and nine arrests.
In the period from July 12 to Aug. 8, there were 471 complains, 38 citations issued and 21 arrests, according to BBPD statistics.
The largest number of complaints in the latter period was “minor medical,” 57 calls. “Disturbance” was the high point in the earlier period, 58.
Burglar alarms in homes and businesses came in second in both periods, 52 in the earlier period and 56 in the latest one.
These are very frequently false alarms, police say.
