Several departments of the St. Martin School Board’s central staff have moved several hundred feet from the Administrative Office near the end of Corporate Boulevard to relocate in what was the Pellerin Life Insurance Building closer to Rees Street.
The board purchased the 10,000 sq. ft. building, along with 2.34 acres of property, from the Pellerin firm last July for $1,775,000.
Superintendent Dr. Lottie P. Beebe explained that the current Department of Administration office at 625 Corporate Boulevard will be designated the Federal Programs & Technology Annex while the Pellerin building at 600 Corporate Boulevard will become the St. Martin School Board Office.
Dr. Beebe will maintain an office in each location and board meetings will continue to be held in the Annex.
Pam Jordan, director of Federal Programs, and her staff will remain at the Annex while the Special Services supervisory staff, clerical, and pupil appraisal staff will relocate from the Special Services facility on West Bridge Street to the Annex.
Christine Foster, supervisor of Computer Programs, and her technology staff consisting of Todd Meche, Network manager, and other IT personnel will also remain at the Annex.
The new board office will house the executive secretary, chief financial officer and staff, director of Curriculum and Instruction, clerical staff, and supervisory staff, director of Human Capital and Operations, Human Capital supervisor and clerical staff, as well as the Sales Tax Department.
The public is invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Wednesday, Feb. 15. The ribbon cutting will take place at 2 p.m. followed by an open house at both locations until 4:30 p.m.
