Man arrested for marijuana cultivation

The St. Martin Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of Robert Russo, 64, of rural St. Martinville, who faces charges relating to the cultivation of marijuana.
Following reports of drug activity, narcotics agents found plants and growing equpment in Russo’s home in the 1100 block of Russo Milazzo Road during a search on Oct. 5.
He was charged with the manufacture of schedule I drugs, the creation and operation of a clandestine growing laboratory, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Russo was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. No bail has been set.
