Crack lab bust nets arrest of suspects

St. Martinville – The sale of cocaine to an undercover agent has led to the end of a St. Martinville drug operation.
Last Wednesday the St. Martin Sheriff’s Office arrested Broderick Sylvester, 29, of St. martinville and Andre Wiltz, 22, of Breaux Bridge after a search revealed a crack cocaine manufacturing operation at a residence in the 1000 block of Perkins St.
Found at the scene were materials, supplies and equipment for making crack. Deputies also discovered crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana, hydrocodone, ecstasy, a loaded handgun and $7,000 in cash.
Sylvester is charged with possession of illegal substances in a drug free zone, establishing and operating a clandestine drug lab, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and simple possession of the other drugs found.
Wiltz is charged with the above offenses along with possession of a weapon in the presence of illegal drugs.
The pair were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. No bond has been set at this time.
