Domestic Violence Walk: Hosted by the New Start Center at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 in St. Martinville’s Magnolia Park. If you have lost a loved one due to domestic violence please contact the New Start Center at 394-8559.
Winter Wear Needed. Girl Scout Troop 24 is conducting a drive to collect gently used coats, jackets, scarves, gloves and ear muffs. Barrels will be set up at Parks Primary, Parks Middle and Breaux Bridge Middle schools for donations from Monday, Oct. 17 through Friday, Oct. 21. All donations will go to The Faith House in Lafayette.

•Sunday, Oct. 23, Annual St. Martin Creole Farmers Market Chariot Parade on the Historic Square. Long standing tradition, where children make chariots out of cardboard boxes and pull the lighted chariot down the Historic square in competition, for trophies and prizes; 6 p.m.
