Carson Kade Broussard

St. Martinville – Funeral Services were conducted for Carson Kade Broussard, 17, at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013, at Evangeline Funeral Home with Rev. Dore Langley and Rev. Keith Carmichael officiating.
Interment will be held privately at a later date.
Visitation was held from 12 noon until 10 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral home reopened at 8 a.m. on Friday until service time.
A native of Houston, Texas, and resident of Katy, Texas, Carson passed away at 6:55 a.m. on Saturday December 21, 2013, at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.
Carson was a junior at Cinco Ranch High School where he was a member of the football and wrestling team prior to his illness. His analytical mind earned him a place in the gifted and talented program. A very bright student, he also excelled at Chess. He was a gifted musician who played drums and piano.
Following his diagnosis in September 2012, Carson’s mission in life was to courageously face the leukemia he had been diagnosed with. He inspired his peers, caregivers, and most of all, his mother and father and his entire family. Carson’s zest for life touched many people and will leave behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his parents, David and Desireé Broussard Langley; step-sister, Amber Langley of Lake Charles; maternal grandparents, Roy and Armine Steele of New Iberia; paternal grandparents, Rev. J. Dore and Elinor Langley of Woodlawn, La.; aunts, Angela and Tom Nelson of New Iberia, Rachael Broussard of St. Martinville, and Remi Randazzo of St. Martinville; lifelong member and best friend, John Veith of Houston, Texas; and many cousins including, Matthew, Chase, and Lauren Randazzo, Ethan Nelson, Jake Meyers, Jonathan Dorsey and Kashtyn Dorsey.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Fred J. Broussard; and cousin, Benjamin Nelson.
Pallbearers were Matthew Randazzo, Chase Randazzo, Chris Martinez, Ethan Nelson, Jake Meyers, John Veith, Matt Randazzo, Willis Flores, Jason Broussard, Yancey Broussard and Damon Voinche.
Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd LeBlanc, Kade Steiner, Clyde Lasseigne, Josh Delahoussaye, Chad Ely, Logan Baxter and James Dial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to B.I.G. Lone Cancer Care Organization, 7103 Oak meadow Dr., Austin, TX 78736.
