Deputy kills husband in Breaux Bridge shooting

Louisiana State Police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex Sunday night that left one man dead.

Neither the deceased nor the shooter have been officially identified but knowledgeable sources tell the Teche News that the dead man is Kendell Alexander, husband of Crystal Cluse, a commissioned officer with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, and she is reportedly the shooter.

Sources said Cluse may be considered a victim of domestic abuse.

Alexander had reportedly been arrested on complaints of domestic abuse in the past.

The incident occurred at the Potpourri South Apartments in the 400 block of E. Mills Avenue.
