SM deputies thwart armed robbery plan

St. Martinville – The St. Martin Sheriff’s Office has reported the weekend arrest of three St. Martinville area residents who were allegedly planning to rob an individual near Breaux Bridge. At approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, a deputy with the Sheriff’s Office was patrolling in the Doyle Melancon area when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked in a cane field.
Upon further examination he discovered a female along with a male suspect who appeared to be hiding in the field along with a second male suspect who attempted to flee from deputies.
Deputies located a firearm which was determined to have been stolen. And upon further investigation, it was learned that the three were conspiring to commit an armed robbery of an individual. All three were charged as follows:
Bridget Patin, 37, Raspey Road – Criminal conspiracy to commit armed robbery; prohibited acts-possession of drug paraphernalia
Jude Derise, 24, Leed Champagne Rd., – Criminal conspiracy to commit armed robbery; prohibited acts-possession of drug paraphernalia; resisting an officer.
Jake Savoy, 30, Alexander Road – Criminal conspiracy to commit armed robbery; prohibited acts-possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of firearm by a convicted felon; possession of stolen firearm; simple escape; resisting an officer (by providing false information); resisting an officer with force or violence
Following their arrests, they were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
