Berard Fund grants TAB $5,000

The Al Berard Memorial Music Fund, administered by Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA), has granted $5,000 to the Paul Breaux Middle School Talented Arts Booster (TAB) for the annual Talented Arts Festival and to support Talented Arts programs.
The grant will be used to provide a professional venue for the Talented Arts Festival at which students will showcase their art forms. Funds will also be used to supplement the teachers’ talented arts programs and provide needed supplies.
“We are so grateful for the generous support and the opportunity to enhance the students’ creative work and growth,” said TAB president of the board of directors Noemi Gandara-Perillo. “This donation will have a huge impact in moving us forward and will further our goals.”
TAB is the parent-based organization of the Lafayette Parish School System’s Talented Arts program. Its role is to raise funds to supplement the visual arts, music and theater curriculum in the Talented Arts program.
Funds for the grant were raised from the Al Berard Music Festival which was held last November at the Henry Guidry Memorial Park in Henderson.
“TAB is providing programs through the Lafayette Parish School System that is encouraging creative and artistic expression in its students, said Laura Huval, daughter of Al Berard and fund owner. “The Al Berard Memorial Music Fund is happy to support TAB in its endeavors.”
