Charlie Mars: The Money

This Mississippi music man has a sound that is absolutely addictive! I was introduced to him through my cousin from the same great state of Mississippi. His new album is so cool. Laid-back and reflective, “The Money” takes you on a special journey of musical enlightenment.
Mars has been called a journeyman and a true guitar man. That may be true, but he has an interesting sound and quality to his music. All 11 tracks on the new album are a storyteller’s dream. It seems that Mr. Mars is a true word man. He says it and we get to feel it.
Check out “Silver Buttons.” It tells of hope and dreams of the average guy. “Oh Girl” is a stirring tune with the main character reinforcing his love for his special lady. “Danger Danger” has a nice uptempo mood to it. It reminds of us of those foolish decisions we made when we were simply following our heart.
“Pride Before the Fall” is a really cool song. The songs about love and losing are here. But Charlie Mars helps make it a little easier to take. I have to say that I really was impressed.
Throughout the new album, Mars goes that extra mile to deliver the message of the good and bad in relationships. All of us have experienced bad times. All of us have had a few good times to reflect on. Mars is the consummate storyteller that puts it all out there to help us understand why.
