Butte La Rose et Les Entourage

Bonjour!

Father Fabre told us of a robbery that happened after the 10 a.m. Mass at St. Rita’s Church two Sunday’s ago. Money and items have been missed from the church in the past causing Father Fabre to lock the church doors between Masses from now on. And even still there have been attempts of late of forced entry.

Father Fabre’s biggest regret is that someone would steal money from his Catahoula parishioners who work hard to earn it and then share it and are very dedicated St Rita’s and to their community.

Guard des don! Who’d have ever thought, although having gut feelings, that Breaux Bridge’s Hunter Hayes would grow up to become a famous Country/Cajun/singer/songwriter? Plus “rock our world” and eventually earn multiple honors as a nominee for the Grammys multiple times. He was recently featured one morning on CBS. And that same afternoon we watched him singing one of his hit songs on an ABC show.

Hunter is a whole lot of talent in one package. He grew up well learning kindness, wisdom, common sense, pride, manners and intelligence at home and with those who circle him. Amazing every musical instrument he put his fingers on he learned to play by ear.

Notice when I speak of Hunter, Jimmy Usie comes to mind. He is a cool, easy-going musician to work with and I say he was one of several who helped Hunter learn the music world well when Hunter began his music career, I think at the age of 2. Jimmy’s guided several of our youths. Hunter began his learning of what a musician’s life would be like through Jimmy’s eyes and wisdom – mind set on playing the music he loves, getting bookings, entertaining the music-lovers and knowing fans’ moods, coordination with the different instruments, responsibilities, sound system, travels, and so much more. As I watched Hunter on the show I appreciated all his help from Jimmy and his son Gary. I was there and saw much of it back then. They all make us proud!

Have no fear, it might be late in coming, but when spring arrives those short, freezing double-whammy winter blasts will become only a memory. They’re more than what we’ve had in a long time – if ever in our lifetime. And we’ll say poohie ces’t tes un hiver froid. And it ain’t over!

I think those big names out there who blame global warming on humans need to hear us who don’t believe that. So what happened here? It self-explains: l’hiver fait froid et l’été fait chaud. And that’s all there is to that explanation! There ain’t nothing gonna change that but God Himself. It is said the weather, hot or cold, wet or drought, is coming that has never been recorded before. I wonder if this has ever been written in the famous Farmer’s Almanac that our farming grandparents swore by. Those predictions were made decades is advance by common sense and observing weather patterns.

And how old is mother earth? And this weather change will last for decades. Something’s gotta give. We can’t control the atmosphere or Mother Nature. Maybe only the thermostats in our homes.

Probably I am not the only one who has heard of severe droughts already happening in the West and flooding coming to the Midwest.

Is anyone considering evolution? No? Who knows? So bring it on, Mother Nature!

Amètie.
