Bonjour!
Mais cher seniors, the Social Security letter you will receive this week to say the amount of money you will be receiving from them in 2015 is what you will need to renew with Food for Seniors when the time comes at Park Hardy in 2015, so keep it on hand. Joyeaux Noel.
This Christmas will have a big void for the family of Carrie Lynn Simoneaux. Carrie was 45 when she died Nov. 28. Mass was held for her at St. Rita’s Catholic Church with Father Richard Fabre as celebrant. She is buried in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Our condolences to her family.
Carrie was a hair dresser and also worked for the St. Martin Parish School Board as a bus driver for many years. She was well known and loved for her kind and fun personality. She loved to laugh and joke with family and friends and always had a smile for every one she came across. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
She had a big following for her funeral ceremony. She left behind her beautiful family and companion Bill Lindsey. For more detailed information of Carrie and her family please go on www.evangelinefuneralhome.com and sign her guest book. I’m sure Carrie’s family would appreciate that.
Also very important to be remembered is the late Dennis Menard. His son Jessie said his dad was 91 years old when passed away Dec. 4. Unknown to many of us was that he was a veteran of WWII. Dennis honorably served his country in the United States Army. While serving in the war he was awarded the Infantry Medal, one Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the American Legion Post and recipient of the 60 year award. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Ruby Huval Menard. Dennis as a past-time enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially visiting with family and friends. The Alberts from Parks brought me six dozens of their fall crop of corn. That corn has got to be the most delicious corn you can eat, better than the summer’s corn. I get corn and okra from them every year for canning. I am on their customer list. Money they make from selling is all re-invest in the next years planting because supplies are so costly and rising.
I recently wrote I have recorded another album. After researching my music and putting all my stuff together my daughter Bonnie helped me download my music to my computer. I have recorded 71 songs. Of those I have solely written 48 of my own originals. And aside from those, I’ve written three award winning songs for other artists. How about them oignons? I am very proud of this and I thank God for the many doors He’s opened for me.
For you who are planning on planting fruit trees soon this is the time to do so. I attempted to plant fig trees but they did not take.
To wish everyone a Merry Christmas and God bless you all. Pray to Our Father as often as you can and ask Him for safety and guidance for our America!
