My very first column was published Sept. 2, 1996. In that column I reviewed an album by a 13-year-old girl by the name of Leann Rimes. Her song “Blue” had taken the world by storm. It is funny how things come full circle.

As the Fourth of July weekend approaches, it’s important for us to remember our “guaranteed rights” as originally stated in the “Bill of Rights” effective, Dec. 15, 1791.

When you hear about the news from Iraq, doesn’t it sort of make you want to say, “I’m not surprised.” As soon as the U.S. troops left, the country began to fall apart and it looks to me like things will be the same as they were before Saddam was removed.
