Cecilia man found in body of water

St. Martinville — On Friday, March 14, the body of Wilmond Davis, 75, was found in a body of water off Sawmill Highway near Cecilia, just a short distance from where he was reported missing on March 5.

Maj. Ginny Higgins of the St. Martin Sheriff's Office said preliminary autopsy results indicate that there was no foul play in the death.

It was determined by the investigation that Davis might have been under the influence of alcohol when he disappeared, Higgins reported.
