Willie ‘Bill’ Francis Gardemal III

St. Martinville – Willie “Bill” Francis Gardemal III of St. Martinville, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. He was born in Lafayette, on March 9, 1963, to Willie Jr. and Lois Harvell Gardemal.
Visitation was held at Evangeline Funeral Home in St. Martinville on Sunday, April 9, 2017, from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a memory sharing at 5 p.m.
Bill, as he was better known, was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in the simple life of country living. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping out near Lake Dauterive. Bill could often be found spending time on his house boat on the lake with a line in the water waiting on that BIG ONE.
He also enjoyed hanging with his family and friends. Anything outdoors fishing, frogging, camping, hunting, four-wheeler riding, outside with the animals, and building things no matter what it was he was always up for it. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Bill will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his two daughters, Suzette G. Brasseaux and husband Barret of Maurice and Kathrine G. Hollier and husband Joshua of Breaux Bridge; three step children, Tasha, Tammy and Jimmy Dore; parents, Willie “Pop” Gardemal Jr. and Lois Harvell Gardemal of St. Martinville; siblings, Oliver Gardemal of St. Martinville, Sandra Dee Stutes and husband Everic of Henderson, Stacy Macip of Parks and Julie Gardemal of Parks; six grandchildren, Barret, Lucy and Gabe Brasseaux and Chloe, Cadence, and Mya-lynn Hollier; 13 step grandchildren; 11 nieces and nephews; and eight great nieces and nephews; and two unborn, and five step nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathleen Smith Gardemal.
