Wanda Kidder Hebert

Arnaudville – A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church for Wanda Kidder Hebert, 88, who passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.
Vvisiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and continued on Friday at 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Her brother-in-law, Rev. T.J. Hebert, officiated at the Funeral Mass. A eulogy was read by Patrick C. Morrow Sr.
Interment followed at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Mrs. Wanda Hebert graduated from South Louisiana Institute in Lafayette, Louisiana where she received a Bachelor’s degree. She began her career in education for two years before moving on to become a social worker for 30 years. Mrs. Hebert cherished her time spent as a nursing home administrator for 30 years at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville. Wanda took great pride in her work, where she received numerous awards and belonged to many organizations throughout the area including the Ladies Altar Society and Louisiana Nursing Home Association. A prestigious award she received during her career was the Citizen of the Year Award from the Chamber of Commerce for her dedicated work in the community.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who was known for being a devoted Catholic and having great love for others, especially her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Shane Hebert and wife Lisa of Cecilia, Kim Hebert and wife Arlene of Arnaudville, Wayne Hebert and wife Missy of Cecilia, and Gregory Hebert of Arnaudville; daughters, Cherie Serrette and husband Kim of Lafayette and Tanya Olivier and husband Bryan of Houston; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Llewellyn Hebert; sons, Richard and Wilfred “Billy” Hebert; parents, Wilfred and Louise Lastrapes Kidder; and sister, Muriel G. Conner.
Pallbearers were Cameron Serrette, Hoby Serrette, Michael Hebert, Adam Olivier, Brock Hebert and Kaleb Hebert.
Honorary pallbearers were Richie Hebert, Jake Hebert, Matt Hebert, Brennan Hebert, Kade Hebert, Christopher Hebert and Patrick Morrow Sr.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville was in charge of arrangements.
