Walter J. Voorhies

Carencro – Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 1 p.m. in Melancon Funeral Home Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Walter J. Voorhies, 82, who passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017.
Survivors include his two sons, Eddie Voorhies and his wife Mona of Breaux Bridge, and Mitchell Voorhies and his wife Melissa of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Patricia Bolden and her husband Shelby of Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lee Esther Voorhies; and mother, Mary Linden.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visiting hours be observed from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery in Carencro.
