Ruby Marie Tomsa

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church for Ruby Marie Tomsa, 90, who passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday and continued at 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Monday. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Rev. Keenan Brown officiated at the Funeral Mass. Reading the scriptures for the service were Raven Bechman and Lita Sanchez. Serving as gift bearers were Beth Mayer, Nicole York and Dawn Breaux. Music was provided by Valarie Andrus.
Interment followed at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Ruby was a former member of The Rockettes Dance Team. She was a devoted wife to her husband Lonnie and enjoyed taking care and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Tomsa of Arnaudville; her son, Sidney Taylor Jr. and his wife Natalie of Maryville, Tenn.; her step-son, Raymon Tomsa and his wife Gretchen of Lafayette; her two step-daughters, Pat Gremillion and her husband Frank of Houston, Texas, and Nettie Marie Fogelman and her husband Ron of Chicago, Ill.; her brother, Allen Artigue and his wife Sis of Bayou Portage; her sister, Dorothy Bonvillian of Jarreau; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Sidney Taylor Sr.; her son, Teddy Taylor; her two daughters, Sandra Guidry and Linda Speyrer; and her parents, Joe and Adele Artigue.
Pallbearers were Travis Taylor, Jed Guidry, Jason Guidry, Joey Speyrer, Cade Taylor and Jaron Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were Raymon Tomsa and Kara Tomsa.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville was in charge of arrangements.
