Rose Landry Mercier

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Rose Landry Mercier, 65, who passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Friday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be recited at 8 a.m. on Friday.
Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Kendreanna James and Hayley Abraham. Gift Bearers will be Aalayah Roy and Elijah Roberts.
Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Rose was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to many. She was a good provider to her family and a hard-worker who would give the shirt off of her back to help anyone in need. Rose enjoyed going to the horse races and casino. She loved cooking and spending time with her family, most especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Edward Mercier III; two brothers, Lester Landry Jr. and Michael Landry; seven sisters, Shirley Guidry, Norma Dural and husband John, Juanita Carter and husband Greg, Nancy Landry, Kathy Johnson and husband Joe, and Laura Pitte and husband Leo and Joann Stewart and husband, Leo; her sister-in-law, Tammy Landry; and three grandchildren, Ebony Abraham, Hayley Abraham and Aalayah Roy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Mercier Jr.; her daughter, Thetra Ann Mercier; her parents, Lester Landry Sr. and Mary Mae LeBlanc Landry; two brothers, Larry and Ricky Landry; her sister, Vesta Mae Landry; a nephew, Ronnie Landry; a brother-in-law, Carson Guidry; maternal grandparents, Elbie and Willie LeBlanc; paternal grandparents, Aspie and Adam Landry; an aunt, Mazie Landry; and an uncle, Alton LeBlanc.
Pallbearers will be Edward Mercier III, Terry Landry, Carson Guidry, Brandon Landry, Lyle Pitte and Dwayne Simon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Landry, Lester Landry Jr., Leo Pitte, John Dural, Harold Abraham, Bradford Landry, Leedrick Pitte, Leo Stewart, Greg Carter, Joe Johnson, Lance Landry, Khristian Chiles, Paul Mercier Jr., James Mercier Jr., Shannon Dural and Reginald Guidry.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
