Rita Bernice Landry

St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Notre Dame Catholic Church (day and time pending) for Rita Bernice Landry, 94, who passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge.
Visitation will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Church (day and time pending).
Rita was the co-owner of Landry’s Grocery and Dry Cleaners in St. Martinville. In her younger years, she enjoyed cooking, doing embroidery work, and going dancing. As she got older she enjoyed doing word search puzzles and listening to music. Rita loved her family and friends dearly and cherished moments spent with them. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Readers will be Jackie Olivier and Angel Jean Louis. Gift bearers will by Crystal Penã and Hillary Sigue.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Landry Bajoie of Baton Rouge; her grandchildren, Michelle Bajoie Miller and husband David, and Brett Anthony Bajoie; her great-grandchildren, Kya Miller and Greyson Miller; her brother, Alvin Guigneaux Sr.; her sister-in-law, Inez Guigneaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Broussard Guigneaux; her husband, Julius Xavier Landry; her sons, James Jerold Landry and Barry John Landry; her sister, Emma Guigneaux Landry; and her brother-in-law, Maurice Landry.
