Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Raymond Poirier, 82, who passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 7 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 .p.m on Tuesday.
Fr. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Kyle Breaux and Kalli Angelle. Gift Bearers will be Connie Poirier and Russell J. Poirier.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Poirier enjoyed spending time at the hunting camp, rabbit hunting, going to the casino, and cherished moments spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Tauzin Poirier; sons, Ricky J. Poirier and wife Dena of Breaux Bridge, Russell J. Poirier and wife Mary Burns of Central, and Jimmy A. Poirier of Breaux Bridge; daughters, Linda Poirier of Breaux Bridge, Yvonne Angelle and husband Butch of Breaux Bridge, Vickie M. Kidder and husband Earl of Breaux Bridge, and Connie A. Poirier of Breaux Bridge; sister, Mary Lou Touchet of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Jack Angelle and spouse Tasha, Brooke Angelle Domingue and spouse Jason, Kalli Angelle and fiancé Zach Latiolais, Shannon Poirier, Kelly Poirier, Hunter Poirier, Hailey Poirier Latif and spouse Bijon, Shawn H. Breaux and fiancée Megan Ball, Shane A. Breaux and spouse Dawn, Jeremy Poirier and spouse Brooke, April T. Fuselier and spouse Hunter, Rusty J. Poirier, Dusty J. Poirier, Justin Boudreaux and spouse Ashley, and Ashley B. Breaux and spouse Kyle; and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Claudia Babin Poirier; a daughter, Cindy Poirier; and his brother, Wilfred Poirier.
Pallbearers will be Jack Angelle, Jeremy Poirier, Shane Breaux, Justin Boudreaux, Rusty Poirier, Hunter Poirier and Butch Angelle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Breaux, Dusty Poirier, and Shannon Poirier.
