Pauline Ozenne Eastin
St. Martinville – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Pauline Ozenne Eastin, 100, who passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014, at Iberia Medical Center.
Visiting hours were observed from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Monday at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary was recited at 9 a.m. on Monday.
Rev. Ed Degeyter officiated at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures were read by Bobby Bienvenu and Burt Bienvenu. Gift Bearers were Hazel Robertson and Elaine Breaux.
Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mrs. Eastin was a lifelong parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. She was a retired educator in St. Martin Parish (Coteau Holmes, Catahoula, Cecilia and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Schools). She worked at the Welfare Center in St. Martinville. She was a member of the Garden Club, Lioness “Cow Bells,” and the “Afternoon Girls Club.”
Pauline loved designing clothes and sewing and enjoyed gardening, as well. She enjoyed watching EWTN Global Catholic Television Network and doing crossword puzzles that her grandson would send her every morning.
The love that she had for her family was unconditional and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Eastin Landry; and the love of her life, her grandson, Blake Jude Landry.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alton “Pecko” Eastin; her parents, David and Beulah Girouard Ozenne; and two sisters, Vivian O. Thomas and Gladys O. Lowry.
Pallbearers were Bryson Bulliard, Grady McMath, Calvin Landry, Blake Landry, Adam Whitney and Jim Bulliard Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Claude Thomas, Harry Delahoussaye Jr., Richard Delahoussaye and David Thomas.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville was in charge of arrangements.
